Kristina Verner

Kristina Verner is the vice president of innovation, sustainability and prosperity at Waterfront Toronto. She has been active in the intelligent community movement for the past fifteen years. Under her stewardship, Waterfront Toronto spearheaded the City’s 2013 and 2014 bids to be recognized as a world-leading smart city. In 2013, Toronto was shortlisted in the Top 7 globally. In 2014, Toronto was named as the Intelligent Community of the Year by New York's Intelligent Community Forum.

In 2012, Verner was honoured to receive the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her leadership and commitment to the creation of intelligent communities and collaborative ecosystems that support the transparent, connected, vibrant communities and economies that will foster national prosperity. In 2014, she was named one of the 25 top global social business leaders by the Economist Intelligence Unit and IBM.
